About us
Beethoven: the dog who changed everything
Woofwolds was born from the bond between our founder, Amy, and her Labrador, Beethoven. When he came into her life in London, his loyal, gentle presence carried her through some of her hardest days.
Later, when they moved to the Cotswolds, Amy found herself searching for somewhere that could care for Beethoven as she would - somewhere that understood both his spirit and his special needs, like his glaucoma. But nowhere felt quite right. So, she decided she would create it.
From that simple, heartfelt need grew Woofwolds: a place where dogs are cherished, understood and cared for with the same devotion they give us.
Woofwolds isn’t just a service - it’s a celebration of the unique bond between dogs and their humans.

Training With The Dog House
At Woofwolds, we believe true wellness for dogs begins with knowledge, consistency, and expert care.
That is why every member of our team undertakes intensive training with The Dog House – Canine Centre of Excellence.
About The Dog House
Founded in 1994 by Mark Thompson, The Dog House is a world-renowned centre dedicated to the teaching and enjoyment of dogs.
Guided by a lifelong love of animals and meticulous attention to detail, Mark has spent over three decades perfecting a compassionate, expert approach that treats every dog as an individual and champions their wellbeing. Known for “speaking fluent dog and semi-fluent English,” his philosophy has shaped a globally respected home of canine excellence.
Our Training Programme
Delivered over three immersive days at The Dog House in Wales, our team’s training goes far beyond the basics. It equips Woofwolds walkers with the tools, instincts, and presence needed to deliver the very highest standards of care, safety, and enrichment.
Our curriculum covers:
Understanding the 4 key motivators: food, gameplay, affection, permission
Detecting early signs of ailments
Safe public walking and hazard recognition
Basic handling: long sits, doorway & gateway etiquette
Reinforcing positive behaviours with clarity and consistency
Developing leadership presence and ‘dog magnetism’
Safe vehicle entry and exit
Reading body language and emotional cues
Recall training and managing distractions
Interrupting negative behaviours and applying fair consequences

Why It Matters
This training ensures that every Woofwolds walker is not only highly capable, but also deeply attuned to the wellbeing of the dogs in their care. It is this expertise grounded in decades of canine behavioural insight that makes Woofwolds different. With The Dog House as our training partner, we set the benchmark for trust, safety, and excellence in luxury dog wellness.
The Woofwolds experience
At Woofwolds we believe that variety is very much the spice of life. We want our canine pack to not only exercise and socialise, but to enjoy an array of sights, sounds, textures and smells.
Our diverse and devoted staff come in all shapes and sizes, ensuring your dog builds up confidence and trust with a range of different people in a warm and welcoming environment. Woofwolds is designed not only to engage and tire your dog, but to introduce them to exciting new experiences and let them enjoy well-rounded and enriching play.
